Are you my Mommy?

I had just finished changing Taryn and as I turned away to break up the boys "fight" more like Truston tackling Kaden, Taryn had somehow rolled over and went face to face with one of the boy's dinosaurs. Her facial expressions are priceless! I switched out dinosaurs and she didn't know what to make of the T-Rex.

A little more about me and the fam.........................

I was tagged by Aundrea. This is going to be about all of us though, where possible.

What's his name? Trenton Lucas

How long have you been married? 4.5 years!

How long did you date? 4 months before getting married! And that includes when we met on our blind date, we didn't start officially dating for a month after that! Crazy crazy crazy. We have never put anything off for very long, hence the 3 kids in 4.5 years of marriage!

How old is he? He's 26. I would say he's old but he's younger than me by a few months.

Who eats more? Him, although you would think otherwise when looking at us. It's soooooooo not fair :o)

Who said I love you first? That is a debate so I think it was a tie! (Although, I really think it was him.)

Who's taller? Trenton

Who sings better? I think I do but the guy doesn't do bad himself, Truston sings great for a three year old.

Whose temper is worse? That would be me

Who does the laundry? Me 70% of the time and him 30% of the time, we both usually put it away.

Who does the dishes? Me most of the time but Trenton does pitch in very often. We don't have a dishwasher so his help is always very appreciated.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I think he does but it depends on which side of the bed is the right side, I mean, are you looking at it or are you laying on it.

Who pays the bills? That's me!! It's the only way I get to spend money!

Who mows the lawn? The gardners of our townhouse complex.

Who cooks dinner? That would be me, it is my escape! Until I have to do the dishes....

Who drives when you're together? He does.

Who's the first to admit they're wrong? Hmmmmmmmmm I think we both are pretty quick to admit when we are at fault, we really rarely fight.

Whose parents do you see the most? Mine, they like to come out and visit us in Cali.

Who proposed? Trenton did, he suprised me by taking me sky diving. Yeah, it was cool.

Who has more friends? I do.

Who has more siblings? Trenton does. He has 7 sisters and 5 brothers, yeah Aundrea imagine my family reunions! Ahhhh the insanity. His family is so awesome though that they are worth all the crazyness.

Who wears the pants in the family? We both do, really, we share pajama pants and a pair of excersize pants. Fun stuff, although he wont wear my eyore pants.......pity.

Next I tag, shoot I dunno. If you are visitor 367, 368, and 369, have a heart and take part! Ok, so why do I not think that would happen, ok let me think, Ok, I tag Tina, Natalie (that's what you get for finding my blog :o) ) Morgan (same to you :o) )and Courtney!

Our Tree

This is our tree that we decorated last night. We made our own decorations. It was so much fun that it is our new tradition. Or at least it will be until the kids get tired of doing it.

Fortune cookie

Hello all,

So the other day I had Panda Express, and this was my fortune cookie message. I'm glad to say that my home is a pleasant place from which I draw happiness... thanks to Kayla and our kids. I couldn't imagine coming home to anyone else. Any day is a great day when I come home and Truston and Kaden run up to me and give me hugs and yell "daddy". -Trenton

I've Been Tagged

Hmmmmmmmmm so I'm suppose to write 6 things that someone may not know about me but the thing is, I am such an open book as well as very opinionated (or so I've been told ;o) ) that I can't think of anything that people wouldn't already know. But hey I'll give it a shot and who knows, if you're reading this you may learn something new.......

1. I love to cook. I mean it, I really love to cook. I think of cooking as my magic potion that I am brewing into something really good. Ok, yes I am a huge Harry Potter fan(atic). Which leads me into number 2.

2. I am a really huge Harry Potter fan. Ok, not to the point where I buy all (or any) of the merchandise outside of the books (maybe I would have if we weren't starving students but I really don't think so). I have read each of the books at least 3 times. Ok, I've read the 7th book 3 times but I have read the others too many times to count now. If you have a question about the series I bet I know the answer, or know where to find it. Ok, so I'm a nerd :o)

3. I really hate California, it's too expensive and not all that great of weather if you ask me. I'm so not a beach person with all that sand that gets everywhere and into everything. It didn't help that I was in the North Ridge Earthquake and I have been terrified of earthquakes ever since (hence my geography/geology major.......hmmmm maybe I should finish that sometime). I just can't wait for Trenton's schooling to be over so we can get back to Arizona. However, I will add that the people I have met here have been so nice! I cannot say a bad thing about California residents especially the natives. They have been awesome! Our ward is the best (besides Voyager Ward in the Val Vista Stake, really, can any ward compare to that ward?)

4. I have the best husband in the whole wide world! He does the dishes and vacuums and dusts, mops the floor whenever I haven't been able to get to it all without me having to ask him! Plus, he's as handsome and sweet as can be. I'm sure he'll make me take this off the blog and so I'll have to come up with something else, because he's also very humble. He definately honors his calling as priesthood holder. How I was able to catch him is beyond me, I have been very blessed.

5. I am a chronic researcher. If someone asks me something that I don't know I have to find out the answer. Google and Wikipedia are my best friends.

6. I am a Craigslistaholic. I have found some awesome bargans on there and I am on there all the time!

Ok, well that's some random stuff that you may or may not know. I now tag Stephanie, Erika, Aundrea and Trenton, if he has time.

The Dog Did It.............wait, we don't have a dog

Well, this past week served as a reminder to not automatically blame your kids for spilled items or other messes, although we as parents know that 90% of the time our kids really did it. This last week was an example of that nagging 10% that trips up our scolding and gives us the opportunity to apologize to our kids. On Thursday, after putting Kaden down for a nap, I was walking into the kitchen when I noticed a circle of what looked like spilled liquid on the carpet, right where the boys like to push the limits of keeping their drinks in the kitchen. I had already cleaned a juice spill in that very spot earlier courtesy of Kaden. So as I look at the spot on the ground and look at Truston who had just put his cup back on the table, I begin the routine of questioning and getting the "I don't know" answers. Honestly thinking that I had this kid in a corner I start on the lecture of telling lies and the importance of admitting when you do something wrong. So after going on for about 5 minutes to Truston who kept claiming his innocense and making me more upset and wondering if the corner that I sent him to for time out was a strong enough punishment, I realized, the spot was getting bigger. Huh, how is that? I was standing there and I know that he didn't spill anymore water and his cup didn't hold that much liquid even when filled to the top which I never do. Well, dang. Could Truston be innocent after all? After examining the spot, I realized that the entire area was getting wet and there was no way Truston did it. So after apologizing to him profusely and him running off with a look like "Get away while I can", ( I'm just glad that this time I didn't break down to yelling at him, I mean, what's a little spilled water, right?) my job switched from clean up to search and destroy whatever was causing this problem. After establishing that the leak or whatever was going on wasn't coming from the water heater and there were no water sources on the other side of the wall, I called my landlord and saying a prayer of thanks that we rented. So here he comes over and goes straight for the hot water heater, nope not it (duh, I had already told him that) and showing him the wet spot on the ceiling he just kinda looked around, went upstairs and such and that is when I saw that there was water coming out of an old telephone wall jack cover thingy (sorry, don't know what it really was or what it is called) and after moving the bookcase I saw that it was also coming out of the air conditioning duct. Now, why the heck was water coming out of there? So Mr. Landlord, who is really nice actually, left saying that he had to call the plumber but unfortunately couldn't turn off the water because our water is hooked to everone else in our townhouse building so until the plumber was actually there, I got to try and keep the water from getting too bad. It was already turning to standing water on my carpet in that area. Yeah, well finally the plumber came and after knocking a six and a half foot wall in our ceiling he found that darn leak. At least it was cold water and we weren't paying for it :o) So, now we get to wait for him to come back and do a permanent fix and "patch" the gaping hole he left behind. Man, I wish that Truston had just spilled a cup of water; next time, I think I'll just thank him.
